With a strong background in clinical psychology, child and adolescent mental health, and education, Dr. Jason Ringo is dedicated to improving the lives of children, teens, and young adults. He specializes in evidence-based, culturally-sensitive therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and he integrates other approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) to address his clients’ concerns and challenges. His focus areas include helping clients with OCD, tics, autism, self-regulation, anxiety, and depression-related challenges.
Dr. Ringo is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where both clients and parents feel heard, understood, and empowered. Building trust and rapport with families is key to his approach, thereby helping them feel comfortable to address their concerns and to make meaningful progress.
Dr. Ringo also offers comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate a broad range of conditions including ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and emotional challenges, with an eye on providing diagnostic clarity. He is passionate about providing useful recommendations specifically tailored the needs of each individual to ensure their progress, using a neurodivergent affirming framework.
Dr. Ringo earned his Ph.D. from McGill University in Montreal, where his research focused on visual attention in autism. He completed a predoctoral internship in Child Psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal and later a postdoctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Ringo is licensed to provide psychological services in Maryland.
Outside of the office, Dr. Ringo enjoys spending time with his wife and children and learning about new and exciting places to visit.
