Dr. Austin Boroshok is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy to people of all ages. He is passionate about helping children, teens, and adults build the skills needed to manage stress and thrive.
Dr. Boroshok specializes in treating children and teens with anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, behavior concerns, sleep difficulties, and ADHD. He holds clinical expertise in facilitating recovery from trauma and depression and is dedicated to providing inclusive, gender-affirming care for the LGBTQ+ community. He works closely with parents to help them nurture supportive home environments and manage the stress that comes with being a caregiver.
In addition to psychotherapy, Dr. Boroshok offers comprehensive psychoeducational and cognitive assessments to diagnose ADHD, learning disorders, executive functioning/memory challenges, autism, and mood/behavior concerns. He also conducts evaluations for placement in private schools and gifted programs.
Dr. Boroshok uses an evidence-based, integrative approach, drawing from gold-standard treatments including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy (ExRP), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and mindfulness. Dr. Boroshok strives to create a flexible, humorous, and non-judgmental environment where he collaborates with patients and their loved ones to explore values and form personalized treatment goals. He is committed to providing culturally responsive care that celebrates diversity in all its forms.
Dr. Boroshok is a licensed psychologist in Maryland. He earned his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, the birthplace of CBT. He completed a specialized postdoctoral fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Eating Disorders Program and his predoctoral internship in child/adolescent inpatient psychiatry at the University of Maryland. His clinical and research training also included fellowships at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
In his free time, Dr. Boroshok is an avid reader who enjoys volleyball, playing board games with friends, traveling, and watching college basketball (Go Terps!).
