With 13 years of experience, Dr. Lewis-Morrarty earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Delaware in 2011 where her research and clinical experience primarily focused on developing and delivering an attachment-based early intervention with caregivers of adopted children and those with histories of foster care placement. She additionally sought out specialized training in emotion-focused CBT for adults and also Trauma-focused CBT for children and adolescents. Following a year-long internship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, Dr. Lewis-Morrarty then completed a post-doctoral position at the University of Maryland focused on clinical assessment of mental health disorders in shy and socially anxious children and adults. In this position, she was also fortunate to receive specialized training in the treatment of ADHD as well as emotion-focused Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for caregivers of young children with ADHD.
In addition to her passions for lifelong learning and evidence-based practice, Dr. Lewis-Morrarty believes strongly in the healing benefits of meditation, community, and time in nature. She is an avid reader who also enjoys hiking, kayaking, yoga, horseback riding, travel, and line dancing.
