Mr. Verratti has been practicing since 1972 and has worked in both in-patient and out-patient settings. He has a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Catholic University. Additionally he has trained under Virginia Satir a pioneer in the field of Family Therapy and as well trained with Richard Bandler also a pioneer in Neurolinguistic Programing (NLP). He is licensed in Maryland. He joined Alvord Baker & Associates in 1994 and has had additional training in CBT thru in-house training workshops at Alvord Baker since that time. He specializes in working with Children, Adolescents, and Adults both individually and in groups. He also works with families and couples.
His approach to therapy is based on building a strong, secure, trusting relationship with his clients and create a safe space for clients to get comfortable going outside their comfort zone. Specific goals are set and agreed to and periodically reviewed and updated as growth and change takes place.
When he is not doing therapy, he is an avid musician who plays the 5-string banjo and has played professionally with several bands for the past 30 years thru out the DMV. He is also an outdoor enthusiast who whitewater kayaks on the Potomac River. He is the father of twin girls one who co-owns and is the founder of a local brewery and the other one who works at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory Microbiology Lab doing genetic research who is proficient in using CRISPER deciphering genetic arrays for applied research.
