At Alvord, Baker & Associates, LLC, we are dedicated to advancing mental health care through research and innovation. One of our flagship research initiatives is the Resilience Builder Program-Universal™ (RBP-U), a school-based adaptation of our original Resilience Builder Program®. Through over a decade of research, we have worked to bring resilience-based interventions to a broader audience, helping students across various settings develop critical social and emotional skills.
Resilience Builder Program-Universal™: Grounded in Evidence-Based Practice
The Resilience Builder Program-Universal™ (RBP-U) is an evidence-based, school-focused intervention aimed at strengthening resilience in students from kindergarten through high school. Developed from the original Resilience Builder Program®, RBP-U uses a cognitive-behavioral framework to equip youth with skills to manage anxiety, improve social interactions, and regulate emotions. Since its inception, RBP-U has been a crucial tool in helping schools foster emotional well-being among students.
In collaboration with The Catholic University of America, we have conducted extensive research on the impact of the Resilience Builder Program® in both clinical and school settings. Our findings have shown that students who participate in RBP-U demonstrate significant improvements in emotional regulation, social competence, and overall resilience (Aduen et al., 2014; Alvord, Rich, & Berghorst, 2014; Senior et al., 2020; Watson et al., 2013).
